An antique dealer in Franklin, New Hampshire, located the prize in a private home not far from Daniel Webster's birthplace in Salisbury, New Hampshire. The highly styled design is French in origin, created during the early nineteenth century when French artists were encouraged by their government and the Emperor Napoleon to produce designs of striking originality. |
