Description | "American Fresco" was made with stencils cut and reproduced from motifs and elements taken from several different old Frescos and designs. The coloring of the original design is that used in the William Hickox House in Washington, Connecticut, the old fresco being yellow ochre ground and the colors used being black, white, gray, venetian red, and white. There is another color scheme taken from the Coolidge House in New Hampshire, which shows a greenish gray ground with a touch of orange in the flowers. |
