| Description | This paper, with its sweeping and graceful scroll delightfully highlighted by delicate flowers, was found in the Peter Jayne House at 37 Mugford Street, Marblehead, Massachusetts. Erected in 1834, the house later passed into the hands of General Ames, a Civil War hero who retired to Marblehead after a successful post-war political career. General Ames was the fourth owner of the Peter Jayne House and we are told that he decorated the second floor room from which this distinguished paper was taken. |
