| Description | The picturesque scenes in this paper were taken from an old linen print found along the St. Croix River. This historic river which divides Canada from the United States was discovered and named by Champlain in 1604. The linen print was probably English, where designs of the eighteenth century were influenced by John Batiste Jackson, early manufacturers of wallpaper, Jackson used Rococo scrolls to frame his designs. |
